Today’s front page headline: Swedish dad in bid for breast milk...
Ya gotta hand it to the Swedes for not being hung up on gender roles. Now we can follow the blog of Ragnar Bengtsson (Swedish / English) as he endevors to induce lactation in himself. He works for Swedish TV8, who are following the adventure as well (Swedish / English).
With 3 months of pumping every 3 hours ’round the clock, he hopes to be producing milk for his baby by December. That baby looks 3 months old already to me, so I hope the little guy will still be interested by then! (I’m not so sure he looks so interested now, in this promo video.)
It looks like he’s got a collection of electric and hand-operated pumps. Maybe he needs a foot-powered one too 
So Mr. Bengtsson’s getting a lot of commentary on his blog about how natural or unnatural it is, but he is not the only breastfeeding father in the world!! (See related post.)
As far as I can tell, though, nobody but me is asking Mr. Bengtsson:

WHERE IS THE BABY’S MOTHER, you ask?
I think it’s obvious! She wears the pants in the family! She’s out earning the money to pay for all these breast pumps and all this other “going’s on!” while Mr Bengtsson plays at being Daddy pretending to be Mommy, whereas he really IS the stay-at-home mom! —-Ed

Doesn’t he work for the TV station? And we know he said he plans on using his breast pump in the middle of his university classes. Ya know, maybe that’s the tip off. It’s so out there and unreasonable, like a dog meowing, that I’m beginning to think this is some kind of big worldwide hoax, and his TV station is in on it. Yeah, they’re boosting ratings all right.
