Wow, I’ve met some pretty rigid people in my life, but this really takes the cake.  A taco shop owner fired an employee for breastfeeding her baby in own her car, on her own break!   What’s wrong with him?  A baby is a baby and needs his lunch too!

I am so glad to see, though, that she was not one to meekly apologize, slink away, and find another job somewhere else.  She sued his sorry self, and he was fined $46,000 for back wages, emotional suffering, and a just plain fine. He had run afoul of the Department of Fair Employment and Housing.  He had some company policy housecleaning to do too.

Can you imagine if she’d used a breast pump on her break instead?  But I’m sure smoking in the parking lot in her baby’s face would have been just fine with him.

Why am I just a little cynical on people like that?
